Wedding traditions around the world trivia

Why does the groom break a glass? What is a quaich? Ten questions on how couples around the world get married, easiest first. A wrong answer knocks you off the ladder, and each rung is worth more than the last. It's a good fit for a wedding that brings two cultures together: add a question about each family's own tradition.

How to play

How to play ladder climb: a short video
  1. 1Line up multiple-choice questions from easiest to hardest. Each one is a rung.
  2. 2Everyone answers every question.
  3. 3A wrong answer, or no answer, knocks a guest off the ladder.
  4. 4Once per game the room can ask the room: show how everyone is voting before answers lock.
  5. 5Each rung is worth more than the last. The last guests standing take the most points.

Running it for your group

A small group
With a few guests, let everyone who falls off keep answering for fun. Bragging rights only.
A big room
The ladder is built for a big room: everyone answers every question, and the screen counts who's still standing. Save the ask-the-room lifeline for a hard rung near the top.
Guests on a video call
Remote guests climb the same ladder as the room. The standing count on screen includes everyone.
