Games for a small bridal shower

A small shower is a different party. Everyone fits around one table, everyone hears every answer, and the games can be more personal. You need fewer of them, and the ones that rely on big-room energy fall flat. These are the games that get better with a small group.

The short answer

For a small bridal shower of six to fifteen guests, play two or three personal games: a how well do you know the bride quiz, the shoe game if her partner is there, and would she rather. Small groups can talk through every answer, so pick games with stories behind them rather than bingo or races.

Games that get better with a small group

With a small group there's time for the story behind every answer. A quiz about the bride turns into an hour of memories. Would she rather starts debates, and the shoe game is at its best when everyone can see both partners' faces.

How many games, and what to skip

Two or three games are plenty for a small shower. Skip bingo, which needs a crowd to be exciting, and anything with teams of two. A small shower also suits a keepsake: date night idea cards from everyone in the room fill a jar.

Fifteen guests is also where the free live version tops out, so a small shower can play every game on the TV at no cost.

Questions people ask

How many games should you play at a small bridal shower?
Two or three. A small group talks through each answer, so each game runs longer than it would at a big shower.
Is bingo good for a small shower?
Not usually. Bingo needs enough players that someone is always close to winning. Under ten guests, a quiz or would she rather works better.
