He said, she said: who's more likely to say it

“Where are my keys?” “Five more minutes.” Every couple has lines that only one of them says. The couple decides ahead of time which of them says each one, guests guess, and the reveal settles it. It works with any couple, and it's even better when both partners are in the room.

How to play

How to play how well do you know them: a short video
  1. 1Have the guest of honor answer every question ahead of time, in secret.
  2. 2Show one question at a time on the big screen, or read it aloud.
  3. 3Guests pick or write their answer.
  4. 4Reveal the real answer. Every correct guess scores a point.
  5. 5The guest who knows them best wins.

Running it for your group

A small group
Under a dozen guests: read each question aloud and let guests call out answers, or pass round the printed sheet and mark it together at the end.
A big room
Thirty guests or more: don't read answers aloud one by one. Put the questions on a screen and let guests answer on their phones, or have neighbors swap sheets and mark each other's.
Guests on a video call
On a video call: share the big screen and let everyone answer from their own phone, so the reveal happens for the room and the call at the same moment.

Questions people ask

How do you play he said, she said?
The couple picks, in private, which partner is more likely to say each line. At the party, guests guess for each line, and everyone who matches the couple's pick scores a point.
What if the couple disagrees on an answer?
That's half the fun. Let them argue it out loud at the reveal, then the host taps whichever answer wins.
Does it work for two brides or two grooms?
Yes. The live version uses the couple's names instead of he and she, so it reads right for any couple.
Can we play this live instead of on paper?
Yes. Put the questions on a TV or laptop, guests join from their phones with a QR code, and the answers are revealed on the big screen with scores kept for you. It's free for up to 15 guests.
